The Member of the Wedding by Carson McCullers

Summary Frankie doesn't feel like she fits in at all during the time of the war. Then, when her brother gets engaged and a wedding is announced, she decides that she'll go on their honeymoon and finally fit in.
Review I had to read this book for English class, and I chose it because it seemed like an interesting plot. The entire story takes place over three days, and I was entertained! It was a really cute story that was pretty relatable; not that I've ever invited myself to a honeymoon or anything, but the youth that's captured and a lot of its philosophies are really relatable. McCullers did a terrific job with wording everything well.
I can't say much because the content of the book would be given away, but I loved the colloquial, American writing style and the funny, realistic events in the story. I was a bit disappointed with the closing, and finding out that everything was metaphorical, but it was a great read that kept me wanting more. I wish the book had continued because it was so entertaining.
Recommendation I'd recommend this book to any young reader, from middle school up, or adult who's interested in American literature and the wonders of youth.
